Nice little blurb here. Link exchanges can be a good thing. The one thing however, I think people miss is not all websites are created equal when it comes to SEO.

Gaining links can be important for sales page websites to gain traffic. An e-book website with one sales page can gain from a good search engine ranking. However, the page would do more sales if the owner was to pay more attention to affiliate promotion and links.

SEO can play a part in this website but the bulk of traffic and sales will come from links and affiliates.

It is well documented, that websites like www.marketingtips.com and sitesell, get the bulk of their traffic from affiliate promotion.

However, they both do also use content to attract search engine traffic.
